Men's shirts come in different sizes, collars, sleeve lengths, pleats, plackets and pockets. Sizes in shirts refer to collar size and are measured in both inches and centimeters. The collars of the shirts can be fused or non-fused. In fused collars, strip of micro-dot and are specially made form 100% cotton, shrink-free and it ensures that no bubbles are formed on the collar. Fused collars are generally used on formal shirts.
Men's shirts can be classified as plains, stripes, checks/plaids and printed. The plain shirts usually come are in one colour. The stripes shirts have a pattern like stripes all over them. Stripes can be vertical or horizontal but horizontal are not all in vogue. Another famous type of Men's shirt is the hairline stripes that are very thin and are generally evenly spaced on the fabric. The pin stripes are also extremely thin with the distance between the stripes remaining constant but these are thicker than hairline stripes. The pencil stripes Men's shirts are simply quite thicker than pin stripes and look like lines drawn from a thick pencil. They are quite prominent on the shirt but at the same time also look quite sober and smart and can certainly make a great impression of worn the right color with tons of attitude.
There is no formal classification of checks when it comes to Men's shirts. Although brands do keep coming out with different types calling them by different names. On the basis of size, checks can be classified such as the big-checks that are big and broad. Then there are mini-checks where the checks are very small and generally on a colored background, lines run horizontally and vertically cutting each other at right angles looking like a wire mesh. Then the most common ones are the micro-checks that bear even finer than the mini checks and the size of each check is very small.
