The main considerations in buying a pair of Men's jeans are the fit, colour and fabric. Different brands have different fits and their fits have been standardized over several years. In fact some styles are known by their fits only.
There are various steps to be followed in making of a denim jean. Firstly, the denim of desired ounce is chosen. E.g. for regular denim jeans, 14.5 oz or similar is taken, for light weight chinos, 10-12.5 oz denim is used. Then the denim is checked for any defects in the fabric. After that is done, the fabric is marked with lines as per the size required and cut by machines. Here, the front part and the back part of jeans are made separately and are stitched together in the end and then the zip is also attached, however, the buttons and rivets are not put. Then the jeans are send for different types of washes and coloring after washing, the finishing effects are given which include putting buttons, rivets, labels etc. and then the jeans is ready for sale.
There are variations of washes and are known by different names. There are several colors in Men's jeans which can be obtained by bleaching and dyeing the basic three types of denims. For light colors, ecru denim is used. The ecru denim is first bleached and then dyed in the desired color. For dark colors, the blue denim is used and is dyed after bleaching. Jet black and other black colors are obtained by dyeing except for the basic black denim.
Sometimes the dyeing is done without bleaching to get the two-color effect. One thing to note here is that jeans or any cotton garment will shrink considerably when washed for the first time. So this shrinkage is already taken care of in denim and other pre-washed fabrics. In fact, denim jeans take the shape of your body as they open up with use and time. Therefore, they should not be shared with other people else they will lose their shape over a period of time.
